1. Netflix India starts testing weekly mobile-only subscription plans starting Rs 65 - After extending cheaper mobile-only subscription for India last month, Netflix has now begun trials for more such subscription plans for its mobile users. The world leading streaming service has begun testing its cheapest plan in India right now. Netflix is proving a new mobile-only weekly plan priced at Rs 65 for users in the country.
Netflix now has four pricing tiers for weekly plans – Rs 65 per week for the mobile-only plan, Rs 125 per week for the Basic plan (SD only), Rs 165 per week for the Standard plan (two devices, HD), and Rs 200 per week for the Ultra plan (four devices, 4K), first reported by Gadgets 360. The company is also testing a monthly plan of Rs 250 per month for mobile-only access.


2. OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition comes back on Amazon India in limited stock - The high-end model of OnePlus 6T, the McLaren Edition, is now up for sale on Amazon India once again. While the phone can be purchased without any wait, the e-commerce website has specifically mentioned that the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition is available in limited stock only.
OnePlus had launched the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition in collaboration with British supercar-maker McLaren in December last year. It is the most premium and most powerful device in the OnePlus’ 2018 lineup, which included different variants of OnePlus 6T along with the Thunder Purple variant.

The company has also confirmed about the development saying it is looking to start a satellite broadband service, which will serve most of the world.
Codenamed as Project Kuiper, the paperwork went public on the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) website filed on behalf of Washington, D.C.-based Kuiper Systems LLC, first reported by GeekWire on Thursday. Now Amazon has confirmed it to Android Police saying, “Project Kuiper is a new initiative to launch a constellation of low Earth orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.

1. Pocophone F1 gets hefty stable update: Expect 4K/60fps recording, Game Turbo - The Pocophone F1 was the cheapest Snapdragon 845 smartphone of 2018, bringing flagship power for roughly $300. And the phone is getting even better thanks to a stable MIUI update that’s rolling out now.

As per leakster Ishan Agarwal, who has a decent record with leaks, Xiaomi will launch the Redmi 7 in India sometime this month. The affordable smartphone was launched in China just last month. While there is no official word yet from Xiaomi, the leakster is confident that the device is coming later this month.

Xiaomi decides to stop software support for its Redmi Note 4, Redmi 4A, Redmi 4 and more - Chinese smartphone maker and electronics giant Xiaomi has just made a new announcement regarding the software support for its Redmi branded devices. As part of the announcement, the company is stopping updates to the developer ROM for a number of Redmi smartphones. As part of a dedicated post on Mi forums, the company revealed that this means that the devices in question will not get new updates to MIUI Beta builds. According to the announcement, the affected devices include Redmi Note 4, Redmi 4A, Redmi 4 series, Redmi Pro, Redmi Note 3 SE, and Redmi 3S/3X.

1. Apple plans to combine ‘Find My Friends’ and ‘Find my iPhone’ - It looks like Apple is currently working on developing a new app that will replace its ‘Find my iPhone’, and ‘Find My Friends’ apps. According to a report online, the upcoming app is internally known as “GreenTorch” and engineers are currently testing it to ensure that it is working properly. The information revealed that the new app will have all the functionalities of both the apps while launching on iOS and macOS as a Marzipan app. It will also come with a new feature called “Find Network” which will allow the app to find and track the devices of the user even if they are not connected to Wi-Fi or a cellular network.


2. Xiaomi Redmi Y3 teased with gradient finish, 4000mAh battery ahead of April 24 launch - Adding to the list of teasers, Xiaomi has once again tweeted out about its upcoming Redmi Y series smartphone, the Redmi Y3. The handset will boats of a 4,000mAh battery instead of previous generation 3,080mAh battery featured on the Redmi Y2. Also, the image teaser reveals a gradient back panel with a mix of Blue, Purple, and Yellow colors.
Xiaomi will be launching the next generation Redmi Y3 in India on April 24. The selfie-centric smartphone will come with 32-megapixel front facing camera, already confirmed by Xiaomi’s Global VP and Managing Director India, Manu Kumar Jain. The jump to a 32-megapixel selfie camera on Redmi Y3 would be a huge improvement considering the Redmi Y2 came with only a 16-megapixel camera for selfies.


3. Apple might refresh iPhone 8 with faster A13 processor next year - Apple might bring back the iPhone 8, its smallest and most affordable iPhone that was discontinued last year. The Cupertino-based company is expected to launch three models as successor to iPhone XR, iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max this year but in 2020, it could bring back the iPhone 8. A new report states that Apple is planning a different strategy for its small iPhone model and that will involve refresh of the iPhone 8 with an updated processor, which could be the A13 processor.
According to Taiwan’s Economic Daily News, Apple will use an “old bottle, new wine” strategy for its iPhone lineup next year. Apple’s iPhone lineup currently involves the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus on the lower end, followed by iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus in the midrange, the iPhone XR as a LCD flagship and the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max as premium flagship. If Apple follows its strategy like in the past then the company will drop the iPhone 7 lineup when it launches new models in September 2019. leaving the iPhone 8 with 4.7-inch display as the smallest device in its lineup.


4. Xiaomi may launch one more product along with Mi TV on April 23 - Xiaomi not only makes smartphones, but also televisions, air purifier and other smart IoT devices. Just recently, it was reported that the Chinese company is planning to expand its TV portfolio, and will launch a new Mi TV line up on April 23. But it turns out Mi TV is not the only product the company will be launching in China. Xiaomi has teased the launch of a new product under the MIJIA smart home brand, GizmoChina reports.
The teaser doesn’t shed light on what could be the new product, apart from the brand name. The “poster was shared by the MIJIA Smart Weighing scale Weibo handle,” the report mentioned. Besides, the new TV line up that Xiaomi is prepping to launch is expected to be Mi TV 5 series, which will be the successor to existing Mi TV 4 series. The new devices are said to offer a thin bezel design, similar to the Mi TV 4 and Mi TV 4X Pro. Additionally, the highlight of the new TVs is likely to be Xiaomi’s PatchWall UI.


5. MediaTek’s 5G chip arriving in India by year-end - Taiwanese fabless semiconductor company MediaTek on Thursday said it is set to introduce a 5G-enabled chipset in India by the end of this year to step up the competition around faster wireless data connections. “5G is a very big focus area for us. The SoC (system-on-chip) will surely be launched by the end of the year and shipped next year,” Anku Jain, Managing Director, MediaTek India, told IANS here. The company is busy working on 5G-enabled chipsets.
“We came up with the M70 modem last year that provides 5G capabilities and it will be shipped later this year with a SoC which combines the modem and the CPU into one single chip,” Jain added. The company, however, did not reveal an exact timeline for the SoC launch. The chipset manufacturer announced its Helio M70 5G modem at the China Mobile Global Partner Conference in Guangzhou early last year.

1. Reliance Jio rumored to launch WeChat-like ‘Super App’ - Jio has close to 300 million customers in India. The company has disrupted the telecom sector in India, after which voice and data services have seen an unparallel growth. Now, according to experts, Reliance Jio is looking to launch a “Super App” which will likely replicate WeChat. Huawei plans to launch world’s first 5G TV with 8K resolution this year - The electronics and telecommunication major Huawei Technologies is reportedly planning world’s first 5G television as early as this year. Sources familiar with the plan told the Nikkei Asian Review that it could be a high-end 8K resolution display television for the premium segment.
According to the report, Huawei is aiming to launch an 8K TV carrying 5G module by 2019-end. If the company somehow manages the production, it is possible that it’ll be the world’s first 5G television. It’s been said the new generation network will allow the television to download data-heavy content, such as 360-degree videos in which viewers can watch in every direction, and virtual reality programs.


3. Xiaomi Poco F1 receives a price cut of Rs 2,000 in India - Xiaomi’s sub-brand launched its first Poco F1 smartphone back in August 2018. It is the most affordable handset to offer a flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset. Now, the device has received a price cut of Rs 2,000 in India. Interested customers can buy the Poco F1’s 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant for Rs 20,999. The Chinese company has shared this information via its official Twitter account. One can get the Poco F1 smartphone via Flipkart and Mi.com. It is also available through offline stores, which includes Xiaomi‘s Mi Home Stores. The other variants are available at the same old price. The 6GB RAM/64GB storage base configuration is priced at Rs 19,999. The higher 8GB RAM/256GB storage model will cost you Rs 27,999, while the Armoured Edition which comes with Kevlar rear costs Rs 28,999. For the price, you will get 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. You can get the Poco F1 in Rosso Red, Steel Blue and Graphite Black color options.


4. OnePlus 7 Pro Geekbench listing confirms 12GB RAM - OnePlus is all set to debut the OnePlus 7-series smartphones on May 14. The company has already started teasing the smartphone on social media, and in the newspapers in the US. While the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro have been leaked on numerous occasions, and the “Pro” variant was recently spotted on benchmarking site Geekbench revealing key details.
The listing confirms that that smartphone will be powered by a Snapdragon 855 SoC, and will come with up to 12GB of RAM, which is in line with the rumors. It carries model number GM1917, which according to wccftech is the OnePlus 7 Pro model. In the Geekbench test, the phone logged a score of 11,012 in the multi-core test, which makes it the fast Android phone. But the test also reveals that in the single-core test, it takes fourth place, just below Exynos versions of the Galaxy S10-series. Still, it does not beat the Apple iPhone XS Max, which is the fastest phone with a multi-core score of 11,515.

1. Android Q may support 3D touch-like functionality called ‘deep-press’ - Google has already released two beta versions of Android Q, which is available for a select number of users as part of the beta program. Now, a fresh report suggests that the next big Android operating system will come with native support for 3D Touch-like feature. This will be similar to 3D touch capabilities found on iPhones.
It seems that Google is planning to move on from the long press gestures, which the company added to the app launcher in Android Oreo. 9to5Google reported that the upcoming Android Q feature is called as “deep press,” as per the documentation related to the “MotionEvent” function. The documentation explained that “the current event stream represents the user intentionally pressing harder on the screen,” and that feature should “be used to accelerate the long press behavior.”


2. Oppo Reno with 10x zoom launch dates revealed - The upcoming Oppo Reno smartphone has been in the rumor mills for quite sometime now. Vivo Y5 to reportedly launch in India this month with triple cameras, 5,000mAh battery - Vivo is reportedly gearing up to launch two budget devices in India later this month that will be a part of its Y-series. Among them is the Vivo Y5, which would be a sub-Rs 15,000 device set to take on devices from companies like Xiaomi, Realme, and Samsung. Now, the folks at 91Mobiles have now revealed a few key details of the Vivo Y5 ahead of the launch later this month.
As per the report, the highlight of the Vivo Y5 will be the triple-camera setup at the back. While the exact details are scarce, the Y5 is expected to be among the most affordable devices in India to boast a triple-camera setup. Currently, the crown for the cheapest triple-camera smartphone is being held by the Tecno Camon i4, which was launched for Rs 9,599. Its setup consists of a 13-megapixel f/1.8 primary camera, 2-megapixel secondary depth-sensing camera, and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide (120 degrees) sensor.
